Adding - removing subscribers from an email list you manage

If you are authorized to manage a listserv email list you are called an owner.

owners can review who is subscribed to their list and are able to add or remove subscribers.

Here is how to Review the subscribers to a list you are an owner of.

All emails sent to manage email lists are sent to listserv@listserv.wagner.edu

 

How it works

Checking who subscribes to a list

If you manage a list called tall-folks@listserv.wagner.edu and you want to see who receives emails sent to this list, send an email to listserv@listserv.wagner.edu and in the body of the email type

review tall-folks

Within a few minutes the list server will email you back with a list of the subscribers to tall-folks@listserv.wagner.edu

 

Adding a subscriber (recipient) to a list

To add a new subscriber to the tall-folks list send the following in an email to listserv@listserv.wagner.edu

add tall-folks john.smith@wagner.edu John Smith

The full name information at the end is optional but may be helpful later.

You should expect to receive and email with a link you need to click to confirm your request.

 

Removing (deleting) a subscriber from a list

To remove a subscriber from tall-folks use a command like this:

quiet delete tall-folks short.person@wagner.edu

adding the word quiet ahead of this command will avoid the user being informed of the deletion from the list.

as before you will need to confirm your request in an email sent to you by the list server.
