In this article we will discuss changes that were made to the Blocks Drawer in Moodle 4.0. Blocks have always been a part of Moodle's layout, but there have been a few changes made to how you access and add blocks in Moodle 4.0.

Accessing the Blocks Drawer
All blocks are now accessible from a collapsible menu on the right hand side called the Blocks Drawer. To expand this menu, click on the arrow in the upper right hand corner of your Moodle page. To collapse the menu, click the same arrow.
Adding Blocks to the Blocks Drawer
To add a block, toggle your edit mode on.
Choose Add a Block
Select the block you would like to add from the menu.
You should now be able to access that block from the right hand side. If your block needs to be configured you can do so from the gear menu. You can delete a block from the same gear menu as well.
