Importing Data From One Course to Another

Using the Import feature in Moodle is a great way to transfer information between courses quickly and effectively. This feature is especially useful if you want to transfer course data from a previous semester to a current one or if you have multiple sections of the same course and would like to avoid having to add the same information more than once.

Check out the instructions below on how to use it:

1. Go to the gear in the  upper right corner in the course that you want to bring the content over to, choose Import

2. In the text box, type in the course you want to pull content from and press Search. Then when you find it, press the button next to it to select it and press Continue at the bottom

3. Then it is going to ask you to check off what you want or don't want in the import. When you have made your choices, press Next.

Then just follow the import the rest of the way by pressing Next a few times at the bottom and it should bring everything over. You can pick and choose which content you would like to bring over and what you would like to leave behind. Once you get to the end, you will see Perform Import and you can click to bring all of that info over.
